Accompany much published and award winning wildlife and landscape photographer, Robert Canis to discover 'how it's done' in the field.
Suitable for those of all levels and as such, prior to your day, Robert will discuss in detail your needs and abilities so as to draw up the perfect itinerary. To outline, the day ‘could' consist of firstly visiting a hand-picked nature reserve in Kent where Robert will go through equipment and techniques he uses to record plants and insects and the use of reflectors, diffusers and flash. Here you will photograph with Robert by your side for the next few hours and from there, Robert will take you to his wintering bird feeding station and go through what would be required for you to set up the same near your home, discussing different types of hide, equipment and feeding techniques. At the same time Robert will take this opportunity to discuss the art of concealment and stalking, necessary when tackling such subjects as deer, which leads us onto the final part of the day, Knole Park. Knole Park is home to Fallow deer and although they are not ‘wild' this is the perfect place to put into practise some of which you have learnt on the day. Anyone can point a camera in the general direction of one of these animals and come away with a ‘snap' but it takes an experienced eye to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary which is where Robert comes in. Upon arrival Robert will highlight key elements that will help you to get the best from the subject and conditions taking into account viewpoint, equipment, exposure and approach.
Ultimately, all this can be customised to your needs and should you prefer Robert to accompany you to a favourite location near your home, perhaps a WWT Reserve, he is of course more than happy to discuss this with you.
