The wonderfully varied colours and shapes of fungi make for great subjects to photograph, but how often have you visited woodland in autumn with photographing these in mind, only to return with rather bland, samey images that do little to highlight their beauty?
Robert's aim is to change this and at the end of the day is certain he will have opened your eyes to the realms of possibilities in producing striking images of these fabulous organisms.
Robert has spent the last 20 years photographing fungi and over that time has explored countless ways of capturing their striking characteristics. He will demonstrate various techniques and will guide you through the process of going that one step further in producing an image with ‘wow' factor! He will cover the use of different lenses and how they impact on the final image, particularly with wide-angle lenses, filtration, composition and using reflectors. Robert will also demonstrate how effective flash can be in this area, when used subtly, either to act as a fill-in or to add backlighting. This has proved especially popular in the past, when many participants find their on-camera or hotshoe mounted flash units, alien, when in fact they can be incredibly useful.
The workshop will be held at a favourite location of Robert's in mid Kent as one he feels not only provides a wealth of subject matter but is also in a relatively compact area, thereby not requiring walking of long distances. Likely species encountered include the wonderfully vibrant, fly agaric, magpie ink cap, porcelain and shaggy parasol.
Numbers will be limited to a maximum of just 6 participants to enable Robert to spend quality time with each, something impossible to do with much larger groups.
